Weekends left out
Leave from one Monday to the following Friday costs ten days, not twelve. Weekends are left out of the count.
Types of leave
Paid, unpaid, sick leave, time in lieu and other, so the calendar says why someone is away.
Half days
Book a morning or an afternoon off on a single day. Two half days can share the same date.
No double booking
FocalHQ won't let the same person book overlapping leave, so a balance is never charged twice.
Remaining days per year
Used and remaining days per person, from their yearly allowance and what's been booked.
A clear record
Booked leave is fixed once it's on the calendar. To change it, cancel and book again, and both stay visible.

Does FocalHQ have a request and approval workflow?
Not today. Leave is booked directly and goes on the calendar straight away, which suits small teams where the owner or a manager books it. A change means cancelling the booking and making a new one.
Are weekends and public holidays counted against the allowance?
Weekends are left out of the days charged. Public holidays and company days off show on the calendar and never cost anyone allowance on their own, but they aren't subtracted from a booking that spans them yet, so book around them.
Which countries' public holidays are included?
You add the holidays that apply to your company, by hand or by importing a CSV file, so it works wherever you're based.
Can people take half days?
Yes. A half day is booked on a single date and counts as half a day against the allowance.
Which plan includes time off management?
Enterprise, together with Staff. The three-month trial includes it, with no card needed.
